Since it first opened in 2002, the Grand Palladium Kantenah has been a favorite of Vacationkids clients. Our staff has visited many times and can answer any questions you may have.  It offers 424 family friendly rooms and remains a favorite vacation spot for many of our families. Some of the reasons why parents love this resort...

  • Free baby care from age 1
  • Kids club and teen programs
  • Suites are family of 5 friendly
  • Beautiful beach
  • Often offer "kids stay free" deals
  • Affordable pricing making it a great value

Many brochures and websites will use the name Grand Palladium Colonial & Kantenah Resort which can be a little confusing. The Colonial and Kantenah sections were the first resorts to open so their names are often used interchangeably. Many travel wholesale classify the over 800 combined rooms as one resort. This means when your room is booked, we can request a room for either the Kantenah or Colonial but we cannot exactly guarantee exactly where your room will be located. Both the Colonial and Kantenah are fairly idential.

Because the Grand Palladim Kantenah & Colonial each has their own separate check in lobbies. For this reason, Vacationkids refers to them as two separate resorts.  Again, no matter the exact location of your room, guests are free to use any of the any of the facilities and any of the family friendly resorts at the Grand Palladium Riviera Maya.

If there are any down sides to this resort or considerations parents should know about the Grand Palladium Kantenah it would be....

-This is a HUGE property. There are golf cart trains and covered waiting stops but expect lots of walking.

-All guest rooms are located in three story buildings that do not have elevators.

-There are covered wooden bridges with stairs over the large pools and lagoons.  The Grand Palladium Complex is not stroller friendly and not recommended for any guests with mobility issues.

-Parents should anticipate a 1- 1.5 ride from Cancun Airport depending on traffic. Transfer buses that make multiple passenger stops en route can double the time it takes.  Our agents HIGHLY recommend upgrading to NON STOP airport transportation for this reason.
