Close your eyes and image what it would be like to visit a luxury, six star, family friendly resort. Now know that the Grand Velas Riviera Maya will far exceed any of your expectations.

From the moment guests arrive through the impressive marble gates and fountains, your senses are treated to a lush tropical paradise of manicured gardens. The gardens surround sleek, sophisticated modern architechture. Guests are welcomed to check in seated on a comfortable sofa with a refreshing drink and scented cool towel while being introduced to the concierge staff.

The staff at the Grand Velas Riviera Maya must all have esp. They just don't meet the needs of their guests, they anticipate what you may want.

There is a large convention center located on the grounds of the Grand Velas Riviera Maya and this resort does cater to the savvy business traveler. Out staff spoke to several guests who told us their companies initially brought them here for business and then they returned with their families so that they could experience a vacation here.

Our Vacationkids staff has had the pleasure of visiting top resorts all over the world and we agree the food here reigns superium.  The quality and care that goes into preparation of the gourmet dining experiences here is second to none.

 Speaking of world class, The spa here tops any that we've ever seen. It is a 76,640 square sanctuary of health located in the Zen Garden section of the resort. Here guests can be pampered (fee) with just about every type of spa treatment imaginable.

There simply are not enough superlatives in the dictionary to describe a stay at the Grand Velas Riviera Maya Resort. A family vacation here is certainly more expensive than other area all inclusive but this type of hospitality is certainly top of the line.

If there are any down sides to this resort or considerations parents need to make it would be....

-The Grand Velas Riviera Maya Resort is certainly an expansive property. There are covered walkways to keep the sun off of guests.  There are bellmen situated throughout the resort that will call for an air conditioned shuttle van to transport guests. If you are traveling with a child in a stroller or an guest with mobility issues, we highly recommend staying in the ambassador section near the beach and most of the important public areas.

-The Grand Velas Riviera Maya beach is manicured and great for swimming. The beach here stretches for miles and is great for long strolls. Stretches along the length of this beach are rocky so if you plan any long walks, bring some water shoes.
