The Barcelo Maya Colonial All Inclusive Resort is locate about 1.5 hours drive south of Cancun airport in the area of Puerto Aventuras.  It is one of the 5 family friendly all inclusive resorts that share the same huge Barcelo Maya Riviera Resort complex. Along with it's sister resort, the Barcelo Maya Tropical, the Barcelo Maya Colonial offers families their choice of 960 rooms. Because these two sister properties are so similar, many travel companies will refer to them as the Barcelo Maya Colonial & Tropical.  We here at Vacationkids refer to them each separately because each of these resorts does have it's own check in lobby.

Included with the price of your room at the Barcelo Maya Colonial resort, families can enjoy all their meals, snacks, drinks (alcoholic & non), hotel entertainment, daily activities, kids club, water park, tips, taxes and roundtrip airport transportation.  Families staying at the Barcelo Maya Colonial are free to enjoy amenities and features at four of the other resorts within the complex (The Barcelo Maya Tropical, Barcelo Maya Beach & Barcelo Maya Caribe).  Guest of the Barcelo Maya Colonial are not allowed to use facilities at the upscale Barcelo Maya Palace Deluxe resort.

The Barcelo Maya Colonial boasts over a mile of white sandy beach and a protected ocean cove that offers gentle waves. There are areas of rocky outcroppings so guests can snorkel to visit all the tropical fish and turtles that call this area home. In addition, guests have their choice of several pools and kids ages 4-12 will enjoy the water park located right on property.
