Dreams Cancun Resort and Spa in Cancun, Mexico has quickly become a Vacationkids.com preferred family vacation destination. Dreams Cancun Resort and Spa is one of the four Dreams resorts including Dreams Tulum in the Riviera Maya Dreams Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spaand last but not least Dreams Los Cabos Golf Suites and Resort and spa.. Dreams Resorts are part of the AMresorts chain, the same people who brought us the Sunscape resorts. So many of our families have enjoyed fabulous family vacations at Sunscape Puerto Adventuras located in Mexico's Riviera Maya as well as Sunscape Casa Del Mar and Sunscape The Beach both located in the Dominican Republic.

Our vacationkids staff visit Dreams Cancun often to keep up with all the ammenities they offer to vacationing families. Sally, Suzie, Jan and Dee couldn't wait to visit the newest members of the Dreams Cancun Resort family....

The newest feature at Dreams Cancun for summer 2007 is really the ultimate for families...A whole new Dolphin encounter right in the resort. Dreams Cancun resort is made up of two buildings, the tower and the pyramid buildings. Nestled between these two buildings is a gorgeous salt water lagoon. Part of this lagoon is still a beach area where guest can swim but now it separates the new home of the Dreams Cancun Dolphins.

Dreams guests will now be able to watch these playful creatures all day along. There are 6 Defines (as they say in Spanish) now living in the Dreams Resort lagoon. Vacationkids knows adults and children alike will be enchanted by Saasil, Kanek, Kichpam, Xcaret, Zama and Kookay. At the Dreams Cancun Dolphin encounters guests can swim with these magnificent creatures and learn all about them. The cost per encoutner is $149 per person. The price is a per person rate and is the same whether you are an adult or a child. For kids, there is a height restriction of 3 feet, 6 inches to be allowed into the program and of course kids must be water safe. Any child participating in the Dolphin encounter program must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Actually this Dolpin Encounter program is open to the public. Any Cancun visiter can sign up and participate but Dreams resort guests will be given top priority.

What is even more exciting is that there is now a new room category which are dolphin view rooms. There are just a few rooms on the ground floor of the pyramid building where the balconies are only about 10 feet away from the Dolphins. We hope you can see what me mean by studying the photos here. Imagine sitting on your patio with your children watching these amazing creatures. There rooms are Standard rooms but are considered an upgrade because of there location. If you are an animal lover and have your heart set on one of these rooms, book early! There are only a handful of rooms with in this category...again book early to avoid disappointment. Also please keep in mind that dolphins don't sleep. They constantly swim and interact. So if splashing and flipper noises might disturb you from your beauty sleep, these rooms might not be the best choice for you.

For those of you who have not yet visited Cancun, a little back ground...the Hotel Zone of Cancun is shaped like a backwards number Seven. Dreams Cancun is ideally positioned in it's own cul de sac right at the "bend" of the seven. It sits right in the heart of Cancun yet it feels like it is a million miles away from civilization. Thanks to it's idyllic position, all of the 379 luxury rooms at Dreams Cancun offer some sort of water view. The resort area is surrounded on three side by ocean. The adult beach at Dreams Cancun offers a breathtaking view of Cancun in the distance. The beach on this side of the resort tends to have a bit rougher surf but there is a reef and a small rocky island that break most of the waves. The main beach shown here is located on the complete opposite side of the resort. It faces towards the island of Isla Mujeres in the distance and offers smoother seas.

Connecting the two beach areas is a scenic path, great for strolling or jogging that offers gorgeous, panoramic views of the Caribbean sea. Along the way are spots to sit, relax and take in the view.

There is one large pool at Dreams Cancun complete with a swim up bar and activities area. It is centrally located in the resort with pool side waiter service for drinks and snacks. There's even wireless internet service if you really feel the need to keep in touch with reality.

The lagoon at Dreams Cancun Resort and Spa offers additional swimming and beach area. Lagoon is completely protected from the ocean and is absolutely perfect for little swimmers. Here your family will find fun activities all day long, from paddleboats, kayaking and snorkeling in the lagoon, to beach games and volleyball...even gynmastic bungee trampolines.

There is just so much to do at Dreams Cancun Resort and Spa - 3 lit tennis courts, non motorized water sports, A fully equipped fitness center is available to all guests from 10am-9pm, full service spa open daily(fee), nightly entertainment and themed parties. Again you're in the heart of Cancun so you are close to Pok-Ta-Pok Golf Club (fee) and all the night life that Cancun has to offer.
Now that we have seen Dreams Cancun from all sides outside...let's step inside for a closer look at the luxury awaiting your family. Let's start with the rooms...

As we mentioned earlier there are two buildings at Dreams Cancun Resort & Spa. This means there are Pyramid category rooms and the Club tower concierge rooms. Only the Tower rooms offer the extra the Club Concierge service. No matter which building you choose, all rooms at Dreams Cancun Resort and Spa will allow either three adults OR two adults and 2 children under the age of 12.

PYRAMID BUILDING
All guest rooms and suites in the Pyramid building offer the following: king size or 2 double beds, private balcony, marble floors, bathroom and shower- some with bathtubs, hairdryer, direct dial phone, satellite TV, mini bar, electronic safe box, electronic keyhole, air conditioning with individual control.
Deluxe Room - Balcony and a variety of views (Isla Mujeres beach, tropical lagoon or pool, 1st floor rooms have a hammocks on balcony, some with Dolphin views

One Bedroom Honeymoon Suite In this photo, Sue shows why this room is so popular with our families. Here parents can enjoy a private master bedroom connected by a door to spacious living room and 2 balconies with a magnificent ocean view.

Master 1 bedroom suite, Views of the gardens of Punta Cancun and the Caribbean Sea. The suite includes a sofa and dinette, as well as spacious closets. The bathroom has a separate bathtub and shower stall. The Master Suites on the floor level are ideal for families, since they have a large terrace, direct access to the garden. These rooms can connected to standard room creating a luxury 2 bedroom suite

TOWER BUILDING
There are only 85 rooms located in the Tower building. All Tower Club guest rooms and suites offer these additional ammenities: Personalized check-in and check-out with concierge service, luxury amenities in your room, bathrobes and slippers, phone with data port and voice-mail, alarm clock/radio, coffeemaker, iron and ironing board, 24-hour room service
Club Luxury Rooms - Located in the tower section in front of the Caribbean and with direct access to the Caribe Beach.
NOTEWith these rooms, we can connect one king room with one double room and accommodate a family of up to six people
Club Jr Suite Jacuzzi - There are a total of 13 Jacuzzi Junior Suites located on the corners of each floor of the Club Tower and offer a spectacular view of the Caribbean. As you can see from the photo here, here is an ample balcony with a Jacuzzi from which you will be able to enjoy the lights of the hotel zone at night. This suite is one large room decorated with typically Mexican materials and colors, that includes a living room, dining room, and full bath.

Club Master 1 bedroom suite - bLocated on the highest floors of the tower, offer a spectacular view of the Caribbean and Cancun's hotel zone from the balcony. They have a large living room and dining room, private bedroom with a king size bed, as well as a large dressing room and full bathroom

In case you never feel like leaving your beautiful room, 24 HOUR ROOM SERVICE is available as part of the all inclusive at Dreams Cancun Resort and Spa. But honestly, this resort is too beautiful to stay in your room. You'll want to enjoy your choice of four bars and the five specialty resturants...
HIMITSU - Located on the beach, enjoy Panasian specialties with a beautiful view of the lighthouse in Punta Cancún and the wonderful Caribbean Sea. Open daily from 6 PM to 11 PM. Here you will enjoy a daily set menu including spring rolls, suishi and a special dish prepared by the chef. Sally raves about the food here! She says it's one of the best meals she's ever had in all her travels!
OCEANA - Adults only - Enjoy fresh fish and seafood prepared in a grill and beautiful seaside views at the Oceana Restaurant. Open daily from 12 PM to 4 PM for lunch, and 6 PM to 11 PM for dinner. * For special occasions, enjoy a private, romantic dinner for 2 on our dock. Additional charge and advance reservations required.
SEA SIDE GRILL - Located on the Caribe Beach, the Caribe restaurant offers tropical cocktails and snacks, as well as grill specialties, in an informal beach terrace area. Open daily from 11 AM to 5 PM for lunch and from 6 PM to 11 pm for dinner.
WORLD CAFE is the main buffet restaurant, specializing in International cuisine, World Cafe has an exciting décor and offers an international menu in a casual atmosphere. Air-conditioned dining area with terrace. Opened daily from 7 AM to 11 PM. Buffet breakfast daily from 7AM to 11 AM.
The World Cafe features a separate kids area everyday that caters to their tastes. Here you find everything a kid could dream of eating. Specialty cereals, fruits, hot dogs, pizza, hamburgers...all in kid size bites, perfect for picky eaters. As you can also see from the photos, we say many "big kids" sampling from this delicious selection of foods!

...And speaking of the kids - check out the Explorers Club at Dreams Cancun Resort and Spa. This is the kind of kids club that parents and kids both dream about! The Explorers club is supervised by English speaking child care professionals from 9am to 9pm daily for children ages 3-12. Toddlers age 3 must be potty trained to attend the Explorer's club. Staff members here are certified in CPR and first aid according to US American Red Cross standards. Ths kids club is part of the all inclusive program but parents must bring their kids every day and sign children into the program. As you can see from the photo here parents can have beepers so that they can be notified anytime their children need them.

The Staff at Dreams Cancun Resort and Spa have anticipated everything kids could possibly need to enjoy safe, happy indoor and outdoor fun. Outside there is a splash pool with fountain complete with a rubber floor area to prevent slips. There is a rock climbing wall and a sand pit fit for a huge imagination. Kids can enjoy a complete playground area with slides and swings for hours of fun. /

Inside kids will find the latest and greatest toys for hours of playtime fun. Each child is given their own Explorers Club passport. This passport outlines challenges and learning experiences enjoyed by kids during their stay. Kids can earn rewards to celebrate their accomplishments and their passport serves as a proud show and tell souvenir when they return home. The Explorers club offers a wide range on interesting and infotaining activities from telescopes to stare at the heavens to evening camp outs.

The Explorers Club comes complete with it's own theater, video arcade (quarters necessary) and snack bar just for the kids. The staff will serve and supervise meals for little ones right in the kids club. In the early evening there is a family movie shown on a big screen down by the lagoon beach. Mom and Dad can choose to grab some popcorn or enjoy a romantic dinner and some grown up alone time.

Vacationkids was extremely impressed with the Explorers Club at Dreams Cancun Resort and Spa! We think it's one of the best kids clubs we've ever seen. We just wanted to let you know that you may have problems dragging your kids away from the Explorers Club at Dreams Cancun Resort and Spa. They may never want to go home! Just don't say we didn't warn you ;-)

For toddlers and infants under the age of 3 OR for parents who want individualize attention for their children, private Nannies can be arranged by concierge for about $12.00 USD per hour. This price may change depending upon the number of children in a family, time of day etc. Again the private nanny service for infants and toddlers currently is NOT part of the all inclusive plan and parents must pay extra for nannies. Nannies must care for childen either in the family's room or public areas of the resort. Nannies and children under the age of 3 are not allowed in the explorer's kids club are for safety reason. Respectfully the management at Dreams Cancun feels this individualirzed care is important for the comfort and safety of little ones so that all of their guests can enjoy VIP treatment.
