Recently our entire staff from Vacationkids.com visited the new Cancun Palace...Jan, Suzie and Denise all got a VIP tour. For the record, Sally was there too but was having a bad hair day so she played photographer. It's funny but each of the gals had a different feature about the Cancun Palace that they thought was the best. The very first new feature that caught Sally's eye the moment we drove up to the entrance was the brand new, state of the art kids club.

The Cancun Palace kids club is included as part of the all inclusive program. It is open from 9am to 9pm daily and offers age appropriate activities for kids ages 4-12 as well as a teen club for teens 13-17 years of age. The Palace kids club even offers free cell phone service to parents to keep in touch with their children. There is a children's pool complete with water spouting characters, plenty of slides, spurts and splashing.

Inside the kids club is fully air conditioned and offers an indoor trampoline, table games, contests and art projects. There is even a separate video area complete with Xbox, Xbox 360 and Wii video games.

Jan was really impressed by the design of the Cancun Palace, especially the pooldeck areas. This resort has a total of about 600 rooms yet it doesn't feel overwhelming. It's stroller friendly and very easy to navigate. There is a total of two main pools complete with swim up bars, 3 adult jacuzzi areas and the separate kids club area pool. The main pools offer zero entry which is great for kids and offer endless horizons looking out onto the ocean.

Just a few steps down and your right on the beach. Parents, please know the beach on this side of Cancun does tend to have rough surf. Care must be taken with little swimmers but it's a fabulous beach to stroll and build sand castles. Non-motorized watersports and free scuba demo are included as part of the all inclusive program but are available at selected Sun Palace or Wet and Wild Marinas. This brings up a very good point about the Palace Resorts...

Like most other all inclusive resorts, all meals, snacks, drinks including premium brands, taxes, gratuities and daily entertainment are included in the price of your hotel room. BUT, in addition to all of these features, the Palace resorts offer their own EXTRAS as we mentioned like excurions tours and visits to their other resorts. Tours and day passes to other palace resorts and excursions can be arranged with concierge upon arrival in resort. Having all these EXTRAS makes the Cancun Palace the perfect choice for active families who want to see and do everything that Cancun and the Riviera Maya have to offer.

The rooms are what Suzie loved best. Just about every room at the Cancun Palace has a water view. Over 70 percent of the rooms face the ocean with the remaining rooms facing the Nichupte lagoon.

The superior deluxe rooms offer either 1 king bed or 2 double beds and has a double Jacuzzi in every room. Room ammenities include an in room safe, individually controlled air conditioning, satellite flat screen TV, hair dryer, purified water, coffee maker, direct dial telephone, iron/ironing board, mini bars (in Superior rooms only), in room liquor dispenser. These rooms will accommodate 4 adults, 3 adults and 1 child or 2 adults with 2 children. Children under age 3 are free when sharing a room with their parents but do count towards room occupancy.

Denise LOVED the luxurious marble bathroom with double sinks complete with robes and slippers to use during your stay.

The Cancun Palace does offer a 2 bedroom presidential suite which will accommodate up to 6 people. Basically it is a Deluxe superior room with a king bed and bath with sitting area connected to a second room with two double beds and bath. These rooms are very limited but can be priced by request.

The Vacationkids staff all agreed that the food at the Cancun Palace resort was suburb. Besides 24 hour room service, the Cancun Palace offers families their choice of five fabulous dining experiences...
MIYAKO Asian Restaurant - is open from 6:00pm until 11:00pm. Teppanyaki tables (Japanese-style grills) are available. Reservations will only be taken for the Teppanyaki tables and are only accepted directly at the resort. Dress code is casual. Gentlemen are requested to wear long pants and beachwear or uncovered swimwear not allowed.

FRIDA Mexican restaurant is open 6:00pm until 11:00pm. Dress code is casual.

In addition, there are 5 bars at the Cancun Palace including 2 swim up pool bars. The lobby bar is particularly inviting with lots of comfortable seating. The hotel offers WiFi access in all public areas in guest rooms but you'll often see guests on their laptops in this area enjoying the endless views of the Caribbean sea.
