The Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort of Montego Bay Jamaica has long been a favorite of Vacationkids families. Every day we here at Vacationkids listen to the "Wish Lists" of desperate parents searching the internet, trying to find the perfect hotel that will fit their family's needs. Usually we hear...We want a nice resort, with a beautiful beach, that's not too far from the airport after our long flight - We're looking for a really good kids program with lots to see and do both in resort and outside the resort and we're looking to get the most bang out of our vacation bucks as possible so it would be great if the kids could stay, play and eat for free!...if this sounds like you, then BINGO!...you're found the right spot.
The Holiday Inn Sunspree has all this and more. Vacationkids Jan McAuley and Sally Black found out why this property is the place that many of their families visit year after year. It offers a beautiful, convenient location, a wonderful kids program,
welcoming and comfortable accommodations, great eats and lots of fun, making it one of the best vacation values in all of Jamaica.

First of all this is NOT your parent's Holiday Inn! Many people think of Holiday Inns as those motels next to the highway where we stayed during family road trips of days past. Not So! The Sunspree brand of Holiday Inns are proper four star resorts scattered throughout the Caribbean, Mexico and Florida. The Holiday Inn Sunspree resort Montego Bay is one of the largest resorts in Jamaica offering over 524 nicely appointed rooms and suites in 8 four story building situated on 12 lush garden acres with a 1/2 mile of white sand beach. This resort is spread out but easy to navigate. In 2003 all the rooms received a multi-million dollar make over and the beach front area was completely refurbished after the storms of 2004. The Holiday Inn Sunspree is now one of the hotel gems of Jamaica.
Families visiting at the Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort Montego Bay is all inclusive and would include your family's roundtrip airport transportation, your hotel stay for however many nights you choose, free use of tennis courts, Fitness center, 9 hole miniature golf lit for night play, Non-motorized water sports, beach towels and chaise lounges, Children and adult activity programs and
Glass bottom boat rides when available. The ALL INCLUSIVE plan includes all of these amenities PLUS all your family's meals, snacks, drinks (local alcoholic brands and non alcoholic drinks) and gratuities. Generally speaking most Vacationkids families opt for the all inclusive resorts because food and drinks can be expensive in vacation areas when purchasing everything ala carte. Most families don't like to worry about the hassle of carrying money with them all the time.

There are two large lagoon shaped, free-form swimming pools at the Holiday Inn Sunspree Jamaica Montego Bay. One is for adults only featuring a swim up bar, sundeck and whirlpool. The other is the main activities pool which features a kid's pool area with cascading waterfalls. In addition, complimentary non motorized water sports including sunfish sailing, kayaking, pedal boats and snorkeling are available on the beach as well as complimentary learn to scuba classes offered in the pool. Guests can enjoy 4 lit tennis courts as well as daily activities offered by the entertainment staff. For the golfers the Ocean Course at Wyndham Rose Hall is less than 5 minutes away. This 18 hole, Par 72 - 6,598 yard course is renowned for its imaginative layout and historic setting, with a challenging par 4 8th hole which is only 322 yds from the rear tees, but ominously close to the Caribbean sea along its left-hand side...green fees, cart and caddy (fees for golf). Adults will enjoy the electronic gaming parlor just as much as the kids will enjoy the video arcade. There is also nightly themed entertainment that the whole family will enjoy.

Even the littlest guests will enjoy VIP treatment at the Holiday Inn Sunspree Montego Bay Jamaica! There is a Granny Nanny program for infants starting at 6 months of age up to 3 years. In the nursery here they can enjoy cuddles and kisses, all the clean, comforts of home as well as lots of toys and activities catering to their specific needs.
Kids ages 4-12 years old can enjoy their very own Sunspree Vacation Club where they can enjoy their own special fun whether indoors or out in the sun. Games and activities are scheduled throughout the day under the watchful eyes of trained staff. Kids will enjoy activities like Tshirt painting, beach olympics, excursions, movies and time in the beach side play garden.

Teens even have their own special place at the Holiday Inn Sunspree Montego Bay Jamaica called the Teen Scene. It's an indoor/outdoor hang out area just for them where they can enjoy plenty of fun with new found friends. There are ping pong and pool tables, video games (fee), basketball courts, soccer and more.
One of the things that impressed Jan and Sally the most during their visit was the genuine care and concern shown by the staff towards the children. Parents that we spoke to said their little ones cried when the day was thru, telling their moms and dads how they wanted to stay and didn't want to leave. We thought this was an excellent endorsement. Everywhere we looked kids were engaged and entertained. having fun and making friends.

Rooms at the Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort Montego Bay Jamaica offer guests plenty of comfortable living space and allow 2 adults or 2 kids to share a room together. The photo on the left is an example of a standard room. All guest rooms include a radio/alarm clock, coffee/tea maker, cable television, telephone with data port, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, and shower-bath. Rollaway cots, cribs and refrigerators are available on a request basis. At this property the definition of kids means under the age of 17. Kids under the age of 12 can stay, play and eat free...remember they still have to pay airfare or use mom and dads airline miles to get here. Kids ages 13-17 do pay junior rates. These rooms come in three categories and it's all about location, location, location. Deluxe rooms are faced inland towards the island. Superior rooms have a partial ocean view and Deluxe rooms have an ocean front view. Remember as mentioned before rates are also determined by whether families choose an EP plan or an All Inclusive plan.
Remember earlier when we said there were 524 rooms in this resort...well, those 24 rooms are One bedroom suites that will allow 3 kids UNDER THE AGE OF 12 to share this space with their parents. As you can see these rooms are in limited supply and are always in high demand so if you're a family of five...make your travel plans and reservations early to avoid disappointments. In addition to the features listed above these suites are basically one and a half rooms separated by a door and contain a king-bed in the bedroom and a parlor with a seating area seen in the photo on the right, sofa bed, refrigerator and a full bath with whirlpool tub. A rollaway cot or crib is brought in for the third child. All one bedroom suites offer ocean front views.

Jan likes the Holiday Inn Sunspree Montego Bay Jamaica so much, we couldn't get her out of the suite. We have a funny feeling once your family visits, they will all feel the same way!
