Close your eyes..imagine soft Caribbean breezes, the aroma of tropical flowers and delicous foods, the sounds of the surf and the ambiance of elegance meets eclectic...open your eyes and you'll find yourself at Ocean Blue Golf and Beach resort. This 354 all suite resort is technically divided into two parts...Ocean Blue and Ocean Sands...which are actually two sides of the same resort. Guests one either side can use all the facilities. Sally, Jan and Suzie from Vacationkids have all visited this 5 star all inclusive resort. This property is located just 35 minutes drive from Punta Cana airport and a few steps away from the White Sands golf course. The White Sands Golf course was designed by Pepe Gancedo, six time Spanish champion considered to be the "Picasso" of course design. This par 72 course opened with 9 holes but when completed will offer a challenging 18.

Our staff at Vacationkids visits dozens of different resorts every year to bring the latest and greatest vacation info to our families. Frankly after a while many resorts all begin to seem the same. But...once in a great while, a unique property captures your attention and imagination. This is true about the Ocean Blue Golf and Beach resort in Punta Cana. The Vacationkids staff were treated to a VIP tour and were very impressed with all the innovative features of the Ocean Blue Golf and Beach resort. From the moment you step into the lobby you notice a very unique style and decor to this resort. One interesting bit of trivia about this resort is that it was designed entirely by a team of female architects....hmm, a woman's touch!

Probably the best way to describe this resort is to start at the top and end at the beach. Upon exiting the lobby you're greeted by a beautiful center pond surrounded by several interestingly styled buildings...made to look almost like a town center. Come to find out these buildings are actually all the specialty restuarants for the Ocean Blue Golf and Beach resort. Our cameras were not big enough to grab a shot of the entire area but know that on the far side is the Casino and theater offering guests nightly entertainment. On the opposite side, crews were putting the final touches on the new bowling alley and teen center which is also part of the all inclusive plan here. The new teen club will offer age appropriate supervised activities for kids ages 13-17. It seems like those women architects were thinking because this design keeps all the nightly activities and any resulting noise confined to an area away from the guest rooms...pretty smart! All and all there are 9 restuarants that guests can choose from. Several of the resort's specialty, air conditioned, ala carte restaurants are located around this pond area. Reservations are required at the ala carte restaurants and gentlemen are required to wear long pants...

La Casa pays homage to the history of the Caribbean serving a menu of Dominican and Caribbean dishes. The ambiance is that of visiting Grandmas house to enjoy a family meal together. The decor is complete, right down to the rocking chairs on the front porch.

Portobello is the Italian restaurant divinely decorated with authentic Venetian masks.

La Tortuga is the main buffet restuarant serving delicious international specialties for breakfast, lunch and dinner. This restaurant is air conditioned and no reservations are required. This restaurant is located in the center of the property making it very convenient for guests thoughout the day.

Arenal offers al fresco lunches and snack through out the day complete with a beautiful view of the ocean. It offers easy access to hungry guests at the pool or those folks enjoying the beach.
El Bodegon and Bucanero are respectfully the chef's specialty restuarant and wine cellar and specialty seafood restaurant on the beach. There are additional fees for these restuarants for guests on the standard all inclusive plan.
Besides the 9 restaurants there are 10 bars, each with it's own distinct personality serving premium drinks. Trust us, you'll never be hungry or thirsty at this resort!

The Ocean Blue Golf and Beach resort is easy to navigate and very stroller friendly. This property is new so it isn't as lush as other well established property. This will change in the short term as their beautiful gardens grow.

The buildings here were built to resemble a European Village. All of the buildings are low rise and please note there are no elevators in the guest buildings. Each building does have it's own private concierge. This way guests do not have to go far to request any resort services, make dinner reservations, etc.

All rooms at the Ocean Blue Golf Resort and Spa are considered Jr. suites. The room occupancy rules at this resort are very family friendly. Ocean Blue will allow 4 adults to share one room (great for families with teens) OR three adults and one child OR 2 adults and up to 3 kids under the age of 12 making it family of five friendly! Cribs and adjoining rooms are available on a request basis. All suites here are one large, air conditioned room with either one king or two queen beds and a tastefully decorated sitting area with a sofa bed. Standard rooms are pictured here and include either a balcony or patio, ceiling fan, minibar with soft drinks, telephone, cable TV, coffeemaker, hair dryer, iron & board and safety deposit box.

All rooms feature marble baths with two sinks, magnifying mirror and ammenities kit as well as a large jacuzzi tub and separate shower.

In addition to all these room features, guests here have the option of two room category upgrade options...
Junior Golf Suites- VIP bracelet, locker for clubs, Private check in and out, fruit basket upon arrival, 24 hour ala carte room service, complimentary gourmet dinner at your choice of either El Bodegon or Bucanero, Bathrob and slippers, personalized concierge, 30 minute massage (per adult/per stay), 2 beach towels in room, nightly turn down service, horseback ride (30 minutes per person per stay), 3 Dominican Cigars per room and your choice of motorized water sports (1 hour a day per person).
Junior Deluxe Suites- In addition to all the upgraded services offered with the Golf suites, Deluxe suite guests also get to enjoy daily fresh tropical fruit delivered to your room,
a gourmet dinner served on the beach, One complimentary dinner at BOTH El Bodegon AND Bucanero.
Catamaran with captain for 1/2 hour per day, one diver excursion per week for certified divers
(proof of certification required).

Ocean Blue Golf & Beach resort has a kids club complete with playground area which is open daily from 9:45am till 12noon. It is closed for lunch and siesta until 3pm. It reopens at 3pm and continues until 8:45pn. There is plenty for little ones to do including games, crafts, sports and all sorts of fun. At 8:45pm every night the theater opens for Panitas Mini Disco featuring family dancing, games like musical chairs, talent shows and lots of family fun.

Every member of the family will find something fun to do at Ocean Blue...Aerobic, Waterpolo,
pool games, volleyball, snorkeling, windsurfing, kayaking, basketball, bridge, archery, intro scuba lessons, tennis, bicycling, gameroom, billards, bowling (one hour per room per stay) and even a rock climbing wall...don't worry, it's all inclusive!

Besides all this fun there is a heavenly beach to enjoy complete with crystal white sand and sparkling turquoise water. There is plenty of room so you'll never feel crowded.

Even the beach side palapas are different here. Instead of thatched umbrellas there are white canopies big enough for a family to share the shade. Jan kept trying to sneak off for a banana boat ride while Sally was trying to take photos...Jan just loves boatrides!

And in the center of all this fun are two graceful pools complete with zero entry area and swim up bar.

The Ocean Blue Golf & Beach resort offers plenty of possibilities for your family to enjoy a piece of paradise. This property has plenty of personality making it stand out from other resorts. It also offers great value for your family's vacation dollar. Sally got tired thinking about everything there is to see and do here so she ducked out to her favorite spot to recharge her batterties...Mike's Coffee shop for a cappucino and a little desert...a great way to end another perfect day of vacation at Ocean Blue Golf & Beach Resort... wouldn't you say!
