Where can kids sail free

Remember the rhyme...Kids Sail Free on MSC!

MSC Cruises is the world's largest privately owned cruise company in the world yet few Americans have ever heard of them.  They are wildly popular in Europe and cater to the tastes of Europeans.  Their ships. although beautiful, didn't offer all the 'bells & whistles" American families craved...until now.

2018 is the inaugural year of the MSC Seaside. Fondly dubbed "The Ship that Follows the sun", she was built specifically to appeal to American families.  The Seaside was specifically built for warm weather sailing out of Miami year round to the Caribbean.

The unique and innovative design of the MSC Seaside was imagined over 12 years ago and built with cutting edge technology. It's sleek design looks more like a luxury Miami condo than a cruise ship. It was built specifically to enhance magnificent ocean panoramic views from every angle. This includes the outside promenade, which brings cruisers as close to the water as they can be on a nearly 5000 guest cruise ship.

But where here to talk about the kids and families!

If the kids are happy then parents and grandparents can relax in the adult pool, head to the spa or enjoy a cocktail during a little "alone" time.

The MSC Seaside has PLENTY of on board activities like complimentary kids clubs and activities starting from toddlers age 3 thru 17.  There is also a nursery program with babysitting (for a fee) and play group time where parents must accompany their little ones at all times. In addition there are fun activities for families to enjoy together like bowling, Formula one racing simulator and the longest zipline at sea.  The centerpiece of family fun is the huge family water park which includes splash zones for little ones and 5 thrilling slides. In addition, the latest technology on this ship can turn a day at the water park into a video game experience.

Some suites on board the MSC Seaside will accommodate families of 5. In addition, there are Family Suites...up to 3 cabins that interconnect to sleep up to 10 people!

When you select your cabin, you can also select the level of service you prefer:

Bella Experience - Three meals of fine dining, world-class entertainment, recreation, kids clubs and  your choice of early or late dining. (what Americans typically expect on a cruise).

Fantastica Experience - In addition to all the Bella features this package includes preferred cabin locations, 12 free drink vouchers (soda wine, beer, non-premium cocktails, coffee) and Room service

Aurora Experience - An All Inclusive cruise package with Priority Boarding, Unlimited drinks, My choice dining, 2 one hour massages per stateroom, Private sundeck and more.

AND kids sailing as 3 or 4th passengers in a cabin sail Free and there are discounts for tweens and teens too. Here are the official rules:

Children 11 and under years of age at the time of sailing - traveling in a stateroom with two full fare-paying adults do not pay the cruise fare; they must still pay taxes and port duties, insurance, flights and transfers (where applicable). This offer is always available for children under 2 years of age; in other cases it is subject to limited availability, which varies according to the departure date, and must be reconfirmed at the time of booking.

Children from 12 - 17 years of age at the time of sailing traveling in a stateroom with two full fare-paying adults do not pay the cruise fare on all cruises in low and mid-season; they only pay the cruise fare in high season. This offer is subject to limited availability and must be reconfirmed at the time of booking. They must still pay taxes and port duties, insurance, flights and transfers (where applicable).

PLEASE remember...cruise ships do control population on board.  You'll need to plan ahead to avoid disappointment for busy family travel weeks like holidays and summer vacation - ESPECIALLY if you are looking for larger or those interconnecting family suites.

So yes....the MSC Seaside and the "kids stay free" deal sounds pretty sweet right!

Did I mention there is a  wall of liquid chocolate waiting for you on board in the Venchi 1878 Chocolate Bar...YES! Seriously people!
