hawaii-kauai-poipubeachIt's time to plan your family's vacation. You do all of your online research and hours of homework comparing prices. You're convinced you've found the very best deal in the world and you're ready to whip out your credit card. Payment in full is required to confirm your reservations.

STOP right there!....have you given any thought to the credit card interest you'll be paying?

So let's say you've priced a  Vacation for your family and the total cost came to $3,000.  If the only way you can afford this vacation is to make a minimum monthly payment of $60, it will take you 19 years to pay off this vacation at a cost of $3,913!

Let's say you want to avoid these huge interest payments so you diligently budget to pay off your vacation within two years. You can afford to pay about $150 per month. Two years worth of interest payments will still cost you about $500. Much better, but that is still a lot of dollars that your family could be spending on real vacation fun.

Think Vacation Layaway instead.

Vacationkids likes saving our families money whenever and where ever we can. We offer Free Vacation Layaway. It's a way for you to pay for your vacation in advance and save hundreds in credit card interest - Here's how it works...

Most Hotels, Tours and Cruise lines will let you book your vacation about a year in advance. Planning ahead save you money straight up with the best pricing and choice of availability.  To confirm your reservations you'll need to place a credit card deposit. For argument's sake, let's say that is $200.  Generally you will be required to have the remainder of your vacation paid off 60- 45 days before your family departs for vacation. So let's do this math here....

$3000 vacation - $200 Deposit = $2800

10 months = $280 per month

This kind of planning makes good financial sense and saves your family $500

There is one caveat to keep in mind here. Most airlines do require payment in full at the time of your reservation. There are some exceptions to this rule and if they apply to your particular situation, rest assured your Vacationkids travel agent will inform you of all the options available.

At Vacationkids, we know how hard our parents work to take their kids on vacation. We LOVE IT when we can save our families money any way possible. We think parents appreciate keeping money in their pockets instead of handing it over to banks and credit card companies (we think they already head enough money).

We can set up a convenient payment plan on just about every type of vacation we sell. We don't charge any extra for doing this. It's just another way we help to take care of our guests.

The other good news about Vacation layaway is that if you happen to get an income tax refund, a bonus from work or you finally do hit the lottery, you can pay off your balance, pay ahead or lower your monthly payments. It's flexible and totally up to you. Just let us know and we'll make the adjustment for you.

Even more good news - we babysit your reservation. With some vacations like cruises and Disney if there is a drop in price or some added perk that you qualify to receive, we'll adjust your reservation to get you the most value possible.

Somethings in life we only get ONE chance to get it right - Things like childhood, a very special celebration etc. Sometimes these special milestone moments don't always align with our current financial situations. Once these moments are gone, they are gone forever.

Vacationkids wants to help. With a bit of advanced planning you can create affordable family vacations while avoiding the dread of returning home to huge credit card bills. Talk to us and let's see what we can do to keep your dream vacation from turning into a financial nightmare.
