Water Parks At Disney

Did you know that there are two water parks you can add to your Walt Disney World vacation!?!  We can add the Water Parks Fun and More Option to your package or you can get a one day ticket at the gate of each park.  Disney's Typhoon Lagoon and Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Parks may become must see and do activities while you visit Walt Disney World!

Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park opened on June 1, 1989 and is open from January through September, this park is usually closed from October through December for refurbishments.  You'll be in awe of the details at this storm-ravaged tropical bay themed water park.  Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park opened on April 1, 1995 and is currently closed for refurbishments to make it even more enjoyable for quests.  This water park is usually closed from January through March and open from April through December.  Since I snowboard I am partial to this "Melting" ski resort themed water park, it's just really cool!

Disney's Typhoon Lagoon features an outdoor wave pool, that is said to be the world's largest!  The park is divided in to six areas with attractions for your family and friends to enjoy.  You can spend time with the little ones at a designated play area, you can float down a "lazy river" in an inner tube, you can enjoy a snorkeling experience, learn to surf, relax on the beach, and or ride down a slide on your body, in a tube, or on a flume.  You are sure to find something you enjoy or you might want to try something new!

Disney's Blizzard Beach consists of four areas, Green Slope, Purple Slope, Red Slope, and Ground Level.  The slopes are all found around Mount Gushmore.  Guests can enjoy tube slides, mat rides, body slides, a wave pool, a "lazy river", a pre-teen area, a children's area, and a one way chairlift ride.  I love the slides were you get to race the person next to you, but the slide where you get some "air time" scares me!  During the summer you may see Goofy walking around Blizzard Beach!

Both water parks offer food and beverage service as well as merchandise services.  Guests are allowed to bring coolers to the parks and enjoy a picnic, but you are not permitted to bring glass bottles or alcohol.  If you do find yourself needing a drink, there are bars with alcohol for purchase in each of the water parks.  Complimentary lifejackets are available to guests and the rental locations in each of the water parks offer lockers and towels for rent.

As with any park and or activity you participate in please be mindful of the restrictions you and your family or friends may have.  Know the height requirements before you ride.  If you have health issues or if you are pregnant it may not be advisable for you to ride certain rides.  I also can not stress enough the importance of staying hydrated and wearing sunscreen while you are enjoying the water parks in Walt Disney World.  Also be sure to bring along a change of clothes for your return trip to your resort at the end of the day.
