disney teenDo you remember being a teenager?  Do you remember how much you loved to hang out with your parents on vacation?  Are you a parent trying to plan a family vacation that includes a teen?  I promise you, it can be done!  You survived as a teen on vacation with your parents and your kids will, too!  Disney is a great place to vacation with your teenagers!

Disney has so much to offer kids of all ages and teenagers are not exempt from this.  Whether you visit the parks, book a Disney Cruise, stay at Aulani, or enjoy an Adventure by Disney you may actually receive a "Thank You" from your teenager!  If you want the vacation to be even more memorable allow your teenagers to bring a friend along or vacation with other family members or friends who have teenagers.  For my sixteenth birthday my parents flew a friend of mine who lived in another state to join us on our Walt Disney World vacation, it was a GREAT vacation when we didn't have to hang out with my parents!  (Thanks Mom and Dad!)

Disney Parks

With the advent of cell phones allowing your teenagers to enjoy the parks on their own is easier than it's ever been before.  Many of our Vacationkids parents even allow their teens to use the Disney bus transportation and Monorail on their own to travel to Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, Blizzard Beach, Typhoon Lagoon, and Downtown Disney.  In Disneyland all your teenagers need to do is walk out of their hotel and head to Disneyland and California Adventure.  You could even encourage your teenager to partake in a backstage tour while you are in Disney, they may learn something.

Disney Cruise

We hear from a lot of our parents with teens that the only time they saw their teenagers on their Disney Cruise vacation was at dinner.  Your teenagers will love the TEEN ONLY clubs aboard the cruise ships.  Vibe is for teens aged 14 to 17, while Edge is for preteens age 10 to 13.  Chances are they'll make friends with the other teens on board and prefer to hang out with their friends instead of with their family, this isn't a bad thing, these friendships could last a life time.  If you need to get in touch with your teen aboard the ship simple insist that they carry a wave phone with them.

Adventures by Disney and Aulani

There are Disney adventures you can take with your family as well as with families with other teenagers.  On these adventures the adventure guides will have activities just for your teens.  At Aulani teenagers from 13 to 17 can enjoy Painted Sky.  This teen only spa includes a lounge, yogurt bar, interactive retail, computer stations, teen only activities, and everything you would expect from a spa.  There are even spa services for the younger gentlemen in your family.
