Disney JuniorI am a huge fan of Disney Junior and I absolutely love the idea of the Pirate and Princess Summer!

As we gear up for our trip to Walt Disney World, or as my girls call it, Disney Junior, it is exciting to know that I will be traveling with one Pirate and one Princess, that's just who they are.  They love to dress up as a Pirate and Princess and have a tea party followed by a treasure hunt.  Kids do not fit in a magical mold, they all have there own unique personalities and their imaginations are amazing!

I encourage all parents to allow their kids to explore, discover what the world has to offer, overcome their fears, experience life, and make memories.  Keep in mind that you know your child best, but if they want to meet the characters, try a new ride, or pick a show to see, let them!  Childhood is over in a blink of an eye, but it shapes so many of our experiences.  Allowing  your children to be part of the process when arranging your Walt Disney World vacation can make them feel important and teaches decision making skills that they will need throughout their lifetime.

This year we will be able to meet Jake from Jake and the Neverland Pirates when we visit Disney's Hollywood Studios.  We might also have the chance to meet Sofia the First as she is set to arrive at Disney Junior - Live on Stage later this summer.  Both of these characters are family favorites so of course I'll be checking the Times Guide, the girls will enjoy the interaction and I'll enjoy snapping pictures and seeing their excitement.

Before we go I will be showing the girls pictures of the rides, explaining the shows to them and getting their opinions about what they may or may not like to see and do while we are in Walt Disney World.  This is their vacation, too, they're not just along for the ride.  Ultimately, I hope that the girls become life long Disney fans because I love what Disney offers, I love the attention to detail, and the determination and ambition that Walt Disney himself had when he created Walt Disney World.

Just because we're "grown ups" doesn't mean we can't join in the fun with our kids.  Do you remember who you are?  As the Pirate and Princess Summer theme song goes, "Be Who You Want To Be!"  Attention adults, your inner child is screaming at you to get out and enjoy some magic!  You, too, can be a Pirate or a Princess!  Dress up with your kids, try a new ride, get your picture taken with a few characters, see some shows, and smile until your face hurts!  Do you remember your first trip to Walt Disney World?  Do you remember the magic?  You can revisit the parks and or visit them for the first time and feel like a kid again!
