Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Tips

No doubt your little princess will want the royal treatment at Disney's Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique during your family's visit to Walt Disney World. These little girl (and boy) spa treaments are extremely popular. Our Vacationkids staff is constanly being asked about this info so we thought we'd do our best to help put it all in one place for our guests.

If it's been a while since you've visited the parks, let's get you up to speed. Kids LOVE coming to the parks now dressed in costume. Children are perfectly welcome to bring costumes along and dress up like their favorite characters, especially Disney Princesses. If you want to take that experience up a notch, there's the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.  It's a princess's best friend.

The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique welcomes all princess wanna bees between the ages of 3 and 12. Of course, this experience is even better if your child is at the age where they haven't yet "lost the magic" and are firm believers in all things make believe. A parent or guardian must be present at all times during this magical transformation. Girls can select from 4 different hairstyles and can select to be made up like their favorite Disney Princess or even Tinkerbell.

The original is located inside the HUGE Disney Store over at Downtown Disney. It is open 7 days a week from 9:30am with the last appointment scheduled at 5:30pm  There is now another Bibbi Bobbidi Boutique found just behind Cinderella's castle as you step into Fantasyland. It too is open 7 days a week but has longer hours - 8am until 7pm. Of course you must have park admission to access this salon.

Due to the extreme popularity is it HIGHLY recommended that reservations be made for this special Disney experience 180 days in advance. This is a service our Vacationkids Disney experts are happy to provide for our guests. Of course, walk in appointments are welcome for impromptu folks who believe in fate. Make no promises to your princess because you may very well be disappointed.

Think of it like an enchanted spa for little girls. The experience is truly magical, complete with a visit from the Fairy Godmother. So how much will all this magic set you back? Parents can choose from their menu of packages....

Of course you are welcome to take your own photos of the entire experience. You may prefer to have a pro shot with set lighting over what you might be able to accomplish with your cell phone. Remember, you'll want to hang onto this photo and drag it out on prom night as a sweet reminder.

As you can see from the menu, some of the higher priced packages do include clothing, accessories and/or a fully princess costume.  One tip that can really save is to buy your Disney princess costume in advance. Your princess is perfectly welcome to wear it or bring it along to the salon. Oh, and speaking of tips...be sure your girl arrives with clean fingernails and clean, tangle free hair so that the magic can begin from a clean slate. No hair washing or nail polish removal is done here, it's all about adding Disney style.

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Pros:

  • You will be the best-est hero EVER if you indulge your little girl
  • Your princess will feel special and absolutely magical
  • Remember - it's all about the experience at Disney
  • Memories are priceless
  • Your family will get to enjoy some wonderful pics for years to come
  • Recycle, repurpose, reuse costumes and gear for play or Halloween

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Cons:

  • It costs money
  • It takes time away from the parks - at least 30 min to 1 hour for the makeover alone
  • Even if you have a set appointment, be prepared to wait your turn in addition to the actual make over time. This too may affect your park plans
  • You will need to make your way to the Bibbi Bobbidi Boutique at least 1 to 1.5 hours prior to your scheduled appointment. Many folks fail to appreciate how long it takes to around Walt Disney World. If you miss your appointment, you may be out of luck.
  • There really is no place for any "ladies in waiting" or other relatives to sit during this process so expect to stand while your princess gets perfect

  Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Tips:

  • Make reservations 180 days in advance, make reservations, make reservations - most important tip we can offer!!!!!
  • Check ebay for great deals on pre-loved, outgrown Princess gear.
  • Consider packing a surprise make up kit, complete with lots of glitter for an in room DIY princess make-over if you want your child to be a princess but not spend extra money or time at the boutique
  • Take into consideration your child's level of patience with primping. If your girl hates having her hair brushed, this may not be the right experience for her. Maybe save it for your next Disney Trip.
