Why do we say Orlando is the hot family vacation spot to visit for summer vacation 2014? Here 3 BIG reasons why this is the year to pack up the family and go...
1. Universal Studios Diagon Alley - Last year, Universal Studios wowed it's guests with Transformers: The Ride 3D and Springfield home of The Simpsons. It's hard to believe but this year is is going to be more Ginormous!!
The ever popular Wizarding World of Harry Potter will double in 2014! Guests with park to park tickets will now be able to ride the Magical Hogwarts Express between the original Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Islands of Adventure over to the BRAND NEW Diagon Alley London at Universal Studios.
Guests will be magically transported via the Hogwart's express to London's Diagon Alley, the area of London only accessible by Wizards. Diagon Alley will be home to the new thrill ride, Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts. Visitors will find themselves careening through the Gringott's vaults on this multidimensional attraction which is topped with a huge fire breathing dragon. In addition, guests will be treated to many familiar movie shops like Ollivander's wand shop, Madam Malkins Robes, Quality Quidditch supplies, The Leaky Cauldron Restaurant and Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlor. If you're into the dark arts, be sure to visit Borgin and Burke's in Knockturn Alley. Plenty of new chills and thrills for Harry Potter fans both young and old.
To help accommodate all of the new expected guests, Universal Orlando will also be opening it's fourth onsite hotel resort called Cabana Bay Beach Resort. The first phase of this 1800 room resort will open in Spring of 2014.
1. Disney's NEW Fantasyland - If you haven't been to Disney World in a while, you will be amazed! The New Fantasyland is a 10 acre park expansion just beyond Cinderella's castle. It has been under construction for the past few years and is just about complete. The last piece to this magical puzzle to open is the brand new Seven Dwarf's Mine Train attraction which is the new centerpiece to this entire area. This family friendly coast features brand new coaster technology blended with Disney signature imagineering that will bring to life these beloved characters from 1937. Guests will enjoy a thrilling ride into the Seven Dwarf's Diamond mine via innovative vehicles that will also swing back and forth as this coaster twists and turns.
3. SeaWorld Orlando- 2014 is going to be a whale of a year for Seaworld...and we don't mean Shamu! SeaWorld is celebrating it's 50th Anniversary this year by "surprising" many of it's visitors.
Last year SeaWorld opened it's biggest attraction ever - Antarcia: Empire of the Penguins. This climate controlled habitat is now home to nearly 250 Penguins. This year, to celebrate it's anniversary this year guests may be selected to be an Animal Ambassador and could find themselves face to face with a pair of Magellanic Penguins. SeaWorld's "Surprise Squad" will also be roaming the parks giving away other exclusive access to rides, merchandize and reserved seating to their amazing shows.
Across the street at Aquatica, SeaWorld's own waterpark, guests will enjoy the new Ihu's Breakaway Falls. This 105 foot thrilling drop slide is the tallest, steepest and only multi-slide of its kind in Orlando.
