Iberostar punta mita Vacationkids is pleased and very honored to be one of the first travel agencies visit and tour the nearly completed Iberostar Punta Mita Resort in Puerto Vallarta. This stunning new resort is located about 45 minutes north of Puerto Vallarta airport in the new resort area known as the Riviera Nayarit. It is actually located in a brand new resort area called Litibu (such a fun word to say!).

For those of you familiar with Iberostar resorts, this one offers a totally new design and it is the very first Iberostar resort to be found on the western or Pacific side of Mexico. It is one of their premium class resorts that is also family friendly. Here guests will find 452 rooms, 3 outdoor pools including a breath taking infinity pool and children's water park area. Guests will be able to enjoy 8 bars and 10 restaurants, 24 hour room service, day & night entertainment like golf, surfing and even whale watching in the winter months. The Marieta Islands lie a short boat ride off shore including the world famous Playa De Amor known as the secret beach accessible only by entering a volcanic cave.

Here is a banner with the first aerial photo of this 5 star resort. This resort has been built in such a way to optimize it's ocean views. Most of the guest rooms offer at least a partial view of the water.  One of the new and unique features of the Iberostar Punta Mita Resort is it's Ocean front suites.  Some of these rooms will offer access to the spa.

Iberostar Punta Mita WaterparkFamilies will appreciate the wonderful kids club and children facilities at Iberostar Punta Mita!  There is a fabulous children's water splash park area which is quiet large, an about 2 feet deep. I know...because I actually fell in while taking this photo and had to attend a special reception dripping wet.  Vacationkids has the dubious honor of being the very first to actually swim in the new Iberostar Punta Mita Water Park! There is a large, air conditioned kids club located adjacent to the waterpark along with a dry, playground area. Parents will appreciate that the kids club sits right in the heart of the resort near all the main public areas. Furnishing were being unpacked for the kids club so it hasn't been totally outfitted yet but it promises to be amazing.  It will be available for children ages 4-12 years old from 9am to 9pm daily with fully supervised and fun activities.

Iberostar Puerto VallartaThe food at the Iberostar Puerto Vallarta Resort was superb! Our lunch consisted of a tasting menu of all the chef's best dishes.  Not only was the quality of the food superior but the display and presentation was wonderful. Guests can anticipate some very delicious choices and tasty treats during their vacation. Best part is that all of these delicious choices and refreshing drinks are all included in the price of your room.

Iberostar Puerto Vallarta Rooms Please know the headboards were being unpacked as this photo was taken. Still I wanted to give you a sense of what you could expect in your guest room.  I particularly liked the display of Huichol indian artwork framed on the wall.  This art is indigenious to this area of Mexico.  For families, please know the standard rooms here do NOT have bathtubs, only showers.  The Iberostar Punta Mita resort does offer six different categories of rooms but due to construction, we could only give you this quick preview.

Iberostar Puerto Vallarta BeachThe beach at Iberostar Punta Mita is absolutely stunning. It offers an isolated long sandy stretch of shore kissed by the Sierra Madres Mountains.  Due to construction, I could not wade into the water so I cannot report as to whether or not it is rocky but this is one beautiful beach. It certainly isn't as busy as the public beaches in Puerto Vallarta or Nuevo Vallarta just a bit further south. On the day I visited, you can see the water is not that rough but bear in mind, this area of Mexico is known for surfing. The resort area where the Iberostar is located is open to the Pacific Ocean and is not located in the protective confines of Banderas Bay. I was told one of the reasons surfers like this area is because the waves break farther out so you can ride longer to shore with less riptides. Again, I am just reporting what I have been told as I could not get out there and see for myself. In the meantime, parents please simply keep this information in mind.

Now that we have seen how great this resort is for ourselves, we can happily recommend it and assist families with their reservations. Our staff got to visit and partake in several day trips and excursions in this area so we can gladly help you arrange some incredible experiences that will make your family's vacation even more memorable.

In the meantime, enjoy a few more photos from our visit to the Iberostar Punta Mita All Inclusive resort. Thank you for your warm and wonderful hospitality! A huge shout out to all the construction crews who kindly let us interrupt their very hard work in the very hot sun.
