spring flowersSnow has been piling up, right along with every day stresses...work, school, schedules, household chores and you've had enough.  You NEED a vacation and we understand. So you're out hunting for a last minute spring break deal in order to hang on to your sanity. So you've taken to the interent to hunt down that elusive deal.

The problem is there are thousands of families out there just like yours. They too are crazy busy. They've waited until the last minute too and now they are searching for the exact last minute spring break vacation that you're looking for.

So why can't you find a last minute spring break deal?...because a last minute spring break deal is an oxymoron.

OXYMORON: Something that is made up of contradictory or incongruous elements.

The travel industry works on the principles of supply and demand. When the kids are out of school for spring break it creates a very high demand for travel. Prices can jump as high a 50% to 70% higher on flights, hotels and cruises.

Travel also gets more and more expensive the closer you get to the time of departure.

So a last minute - spring break deal isn't just an oxymoron...it's a double whammy.

Listen, we don't enjoy delivering bad news. We want to see parents out there traveling with their kids and enjoying spring break. We also have family check books that need balancing  and we don't like to see our clients spending any more money than they have to. We want to help teach you how to find a spring break deal...

-Airfares will most likely break the bank right now. If you're looking for a deal, consider a mini vacation that will allow you to drive to your vacation destination. This will certainly work to your favor. Besides, trying to find and affordable airfare to line up with a cheap hotel is next to impossible at this late date.

-Right now, everyone wants to go "someplace warm & cheap". If you're looking for a great deal, think opposite. Consider a city stay vacation in a place like Washington DC or NYC. If your lucky, you might just find a last minute flight to a European capital because is low season there right now.

-If you don't mind a bit of a family road trip and you can be flexible with your sleeping arrangements, consider driving to a port city and taking a cruise.  At this late date, it may be difficult if you need a family cabin for a larger family. If you can be flexible you may just be able to find a good price.

-Plan ahead for a REAL vacation. By losing the idea of "last minute" and booking a summer vacation now you'll save by planning ahead. Save even more by booking spring break 2014 NOW. The further out you book the more you'll save. Often layaway payments can be set up so that you're vacation can be paid off little by litte so it won't break the bank.  Many parents complain that their work and school schedules are too chaotic to plan that far in advance. No worries, travel insurance is something we HIGHLY recommend and often it allows families to cancel for any reason. Even when you factor in the cost of insurance, you'll still save money compared to trying to pay last minute prices.

Once again, we don't want to be the bearers of bad news, we're on your side. We sure hope you find a great last minute spring break deal. Hey, we buy power ball tickets every week too. But hopefully now you know and you won't ever miss out again.
