Vacationkids is getting a make-over! (Actually it's a major facelift!)
When Vacationkids began back in 2001, my then teen age son actually developed our old logo that can currently still be seen on all our website pages at www.vacationkids.com. His idea then was that our agents were "heroes" helping parents take their kids on vacation. He designed and animated our logo to look like a patch that might be found on the costume of a comic book super hero. Although our logo has served us well for many years, we've all grown up a bit.
My son is now grown and works in computer animation and TV motion graphics. In his free time he keeps a sketch blog creating his own comic heroes. His girlfriend is a gifted graphic designer in her own right. She has heard many dinner table discussions from me on how I needed help designing a new look for Vacationkids. I wanted something fresh, fun, young and playful. I really wanted to use the word "kids" to illustrate how kid friendly we are around here. The majority of our families do request beach vacations hence the palm trees and swirling surf. She incorporated all of my imput and ramblings and came up with this design on her very first try! I guess sometimes it takes a fresh pair of eyes to really help you to see yourself in a whole new light!
Our family vacation blog was where we decided to start showing off our new look. We're still tweaking the design a little so you may see some slight variations in the coming weeks and months. For example, we may test a couple of different color schemes. Like google, we may decide in the future to develop different themes around this logo idea and hopefully add some fun annimations.
So if you happen to come to our vacationkids.com homepage to make your vacation reservations and everything looks different pleaes do not be shocked. We're still the same fun folks just sitting behind a new coat of paint.
In addition, we'll also be incorporating some re-dsigned website navigation and systems. We always listen to the feedback of our clients. Hopefully this will help to make Vacationkids much easier to use. We're also updating our systems in the back of the house enabling us to serve our customers better. This will also help our website to do some new tricks. No doubt this will not be a smooth and easy road. There will be some pot holes along the way so we do appreciate your patience with our growing pains.
Please, let us know what you think of our new look....feedback is welcomed!
