Barcelo Maya Palace - Hotel Review...

The Barcelo Maya Palace is one of five resorts that make up the Barcelo Maya Beach Resort Complex. The Palace is the most luxurious of all the resorts in this complex. It is a five star, high end resort offering 750 glamorous suites. The Barcelo Maya Palace and the rest of the complex is located about 1.5 hours ride south of Cancun airport. This resort sits basically between the popular town of Playa Del Carmen and the picturesque ruins of Tulum. Vacationkids Sally Black and Suzie Sturm have both visited the Barcelo Maya Palace and have returned with rave reviews.

Families who are guests at the Barcelo Maya Palace are free to enjoy all of the facilities throughout the entire Barcelo Maya Beach Complex...Over 20 delicious restaurants, 10 pools, water parks and plenty of fun. Suzie says if your family like long walks on the beach or building sand castles in the sun then this is the resort for you. The Barcelo Maya Palace boasts a beautiful white sand beach that's over a mile long. Palace guests are the only guests who have the privilege of using all the facilities in the entire complex.

The Barcelo Maya Palace is a resort that the whole family will enjoy, especially the kids. There is a huge water park area for kids to splash and play the day away. In addition, there is the Barcy kids club open daily for child ages 4-12 where they will enjoy age appropriate activities throughout the day.

Barcelo Maya Palace suites offer families lots of space to relax. All jr suites offer a terrace or balcony, minibar with drinks, coffee-maker and alarm clock; ceiling fan, iron and ironing board, pillow menu, digital safe, Internet connection (with charge), flat-screen TV, fully-fitted bathroom with luxury amenities, robes and slippers. Jr Suites at the Barcelo Maya Palace are family of five friendly and allow a maximum of 3 adults with two children.

The Barcelo Maya Palace also offers family deluxe suites. These rooms are actually family of six friendly and will allow a maximum of 4 adults and one child. The family deluxe suites offer over 1000 square feet of luxury. Technically this suite is comprised of a king bed room that adjoins to another room with two double beds. There's plenty of lounge space as well as two bathrooms. PLEASE NOTE - Family deluxe suites are in high demand and usually are the first to sell out, especially for December holiday and Spring Break weeks. Make your reservations early to avoid disappointment.
The Barcelo Maya Palace also offers other suite options that can accommodate even larger families who want to enjoy quality time together while on vacation.

Everyone in the family can enjoy the Barcelo Maya Palace. Kick back and chill out in one of 10 complex pools or splurge on a massage at the spa (fee) after a work out in the gym. There are 9 lit tennis courts (free racket and ball rental),Basketball court and soccer courts, Kayaks, Windsurfing, Catamaran, Water tricycles, snorkeling and Diving (1 free lesson per day in the pool),Water aerobics in the pool,Beach volleyball, Table tennis, archery and evening entertainment.

Once again, guests who stay at the Barcelo Maya Palace can eat at any of the 20 restaurants throughout the resort property. There are 6 dining venues at the Barcelo Maya Palace that only serve the guests who stay at the palace. There are two air conditioned buffets, beach side grill, a French Brasserie, Brazilian Rodizio, Caribbean, Oriental and Mexican restaurants in addition to 24 hour room service. Suzie and Sally both report that the food here was delicious but the most impressive feature of the Barcelo Maya Palace is the staff. The service here is wonderful and all our vacationkids families return to tell us how their families felt like VIP's during their entire vacation.
