AZUL BEACH HOTEL REVIEW...
The Azul Beach Hotel by Karisma is Mexico's premier boutique, all inclusive resort dedicated to families. The Azul Beach philosophy is all about quality family togetherness time. It offers a lush garden setting set on a beautiful, white sand beach with gentle bright, blue waves. Vacationkids staff was taken on a tour by general manager Noe Landa so that we could highlight some of the very unique features of this distinctive property.

The old saying is "good things come in small packages" and that is very true when it comes to Azul Beach Hotel. This is a small, boutique style, all inclusive resort of only 98 rooms offering families a very intimate and personal atmosphere.
This is a small resort that is BIG on service. Understated luxury would be the best words to describe the vibe here.
And speaking of small packages, this resort really caters to young families with infants and toddlers.

Families arriving at Azul Beach Hotel are warmly greeted with a refreshing towel and drink...parents are offered champagne and children receive their own fruit smoothies. Seated private check in with brief orientation proceeds as your luggage is delivered to your room. The open lobby immediately offers you relaxed tropical views of the ocean. Guests are escorted to their rooms via shady covered walkways that are all stroller friendly.

The 98 guest rooms of the Azul Beach Resort hug the shore so just about every room offers ocean views amidst the lush garden palms. Every room is just steps away from the beautiful Bahia Petempich beach, a sparkling pool (heated in winter) as well as all resort amenities. The contemporary two story architecture tastefully reflects the charm of old Mexico. Upper rooms offer better ocean views but bear in mind there are no elevators in the guest buildings here.

Azul Beach Hotel room will allow a maximum of 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 kids under the age of 12 with the exception of the honeymoon suite which will allow only 2 adults.....
Deluxe Rooms here are cozy and nicely appointed with air conditioning, satellite flat screen televisions, tile shower only - hair dryer, safety deposit box, daily supplied mini bar, coffee maker, DVD player, direct dialing telephone, balcony or veranda. Smoking rooms are available upon request. Please note there are no bath tubs in these rooms

Junior Suites are esigned in contemporary caribbean style with dark wood accents and sitting area. Each suite comes equipped with air conditioning, 32 inch plasma television, DVD player, IPOD docking station, radio/alarm clock, safety deposit box, amenity kit, once daily stocked minibar, iron and ironing board, coffee maker, oversized terrace, direct dial telephone, deluxe bathrobes, private marble bathroom with telephone, hydro jet jacuzzi, shower with rainforest shower head, hair dryer, double sink and vanity mirror. Swim Up suites and limited connecting rooms are available.
Children under the age of 2 stay free and are treated like royalty!

Azul Beach hotel has all the essentials to make their youngest guests feel right at home. Upon request, rooms are completely outfitted with baby gear including strollers, bottle sterilizers, bottle warmer, step stool, crib with baby sized bath robe, pack and play for the beach and refrigerator for formula or medicine. The baby gear is complimentary and part of the Azul Beach Hotel all inclusive program. Vacationkids staff will request these items for your youngster. No need for parents to schlepp all their baby gear from home and no need to pay extra luggage fees with your airline. Parents really CAN get a vacation at the Azul Beach Hotel!

The Azul Beach Hotel offers the Azulitos kids club which is open daily from 9am to 5pm for children ages 4 to 12 years of age. Kids are kept busy with fun activities and age appropriate games throughout the day.

The Azul Beach Hotel offers plenty of fun activities for the grown ups too. Everything from Yoga, three pools, swim up bar, Water aerobics, games, sports, nearby golf, Spanish and Mayan classes, cooking classes, catamaran, boogie board and boat rides to snorkeling just off shore from the resort. The Azul Beach Hotel and entertainment staff want to involve guests with activities that parents and kids alike can enjoy, promoting family vacation together time.
And speaking of the beach, the snorkeling reef just a boat ride off shore (fee) provides a break in the surf making it a perfect beach for little swimmers. The waves here are gentle. The beach and swimming areas offer soft sand making it easy on the feet. The beaches in this area of the Riviera Maya tend to have lots of sea grass. The swimming area is clear of grass at the Azul Beach Hotel but due to the surrounding area, you will find sea grass in the water and along the shore which is raked frequently by resort staff.
Bear in mind that sea grass means the ecology of this area is healthy. It also provides
homes and food to the scores of tropical fish you'll see swimming with you.
One feature our families really love here are the king size beach bed cabanas at the Azul Beach Resort. There is plenty of room for Mom, Dad and the kids to camp out in the shade and pretend they are like Robinson Crusoe. If you want to work on your tan, no worries, there are plenty of sunny spots too. Please know there is no waking up at 5am to try to claim one of these beach beds. At the Azul Beach Hotel you have beach butlers that will gladly reserve a Cabana for your family, prepare it with fresh towels, snacks, toys for the kids and even order you a family picnic to share for lunch.

When it comes to food, we've saved the best for last. The Azul Beach Hotel is known for not just being all inclusive but GOURMET Inclusive. This resort is a foodie's delight featuring the finest, freshest ingredients prepared with care by world class chefs.
No resort buffets or reservations here. All four Azul Beach Restaurants offer ala carte waiter service...
Blue Restaurant At Azul Serves breakfast, lunch and dinner in a friendly atmosphere with indoor air conditioned tables or al fresco next to the sea. Breakfast serves up a variety of international and Mexican dishes, fresh seasonal fruits, steak and individually prepared omelets and fresh baked goods. Family-style lunches offer a wide selection of salads, gourmet sandwiches, daily changing specialties. Unlimited dining with several complete menus are available in the evening including Lobster, Salad, South Beach Diet and Low fat/Low carb menus are available. This daily changing themed menus with fine pasta dishes, juicy steaks, ocean fresh seafood prepared according to the finest in Mexican, Italian, Fusion, Thai, Spanish and French cuisine. One of the highlights of your dinner will be the fine selection of International cheeses, delicious desserts and specialty coffee....The tapioca in coconut milk is amazing!
Chill Restaurant offers indoor air conditioned dining for lunch and dinner, serving a delicious Mexican Caribbean fusion menu. If you prefer dinning by the sea, ask to be seated on the Blue Terrace where they serve up a mouth watering selection of ocean fresh seafood and tender cuts of meat right off the grill.

Tainan Is Azul Beach Hotel's Asian fusion restaurant named for the ancient capital of Taiwan known world wide for it's exotic delicacies. It is open for dinner in the evenings. Tainan serves large portions of Asian favorites like sushi, sashimi, rice noodles, pot stickers, dumplings and succulent main courses prepared using the finest authentic ingredients.
La Mancha Is the snack bar centered next to the main pool bar. It offers exotic fruit juices, jungle fruit smoothies, ice teas, espresso, cappuccino, frappucino and delightful Caribbean sandwiches, brownies, jumbo cookies and ice-cream for either al fresco dining or take away snacks. The cappuccino here is some of the best we've ever had!!!
And talk about baby friendly... each and every restaurant at Azul Beach Hotel offers
a specially prepared kids menu dedicated to the pickiest of eaters. These menus features specialty fruit kid cocktail, games and dessert. As you can see from our photo of LaMancha restaurant, the gourmet inclusive concept is even offered to baby guests with
gerber gourmet baby food available for them too.
The Azul Beach Hotel also offers their gourmet meals and snacks via24 hour room service! You can relax and enjoy a cocktail at one of three lounges offering the finest, premium liquors. The Aquanox pool bar is the thatched roof center of resort activity. The Wave lounge offers a south beach vibe of blue light and cocktails while star gazing. Last but not least is the Agavero Tequila Lounge. This is a replica of a 19th century Tequila bar serving over 30 different Tequilas, Aejo, Reposado and Blanco, straight, frozen or mixed into the most amazing margaritas from the traditional lime margarita to banana, cucumber or raspberry...complete with a frozen bar top to keep drinks and guests cool.
We could go on and on about the food at Azul Beach Hotel...fresh yogurt parfaits and oatmeal served with coconut milk for breakfast, sushi and fresh grilled shrimp for lunch and lobster risotto for dinner...YUM! Our last mention is the weekly Paella served right on the beach. The chefs walk to the end of the pier where local fishermen deliver the catch of the day....You can't get any fresher seafood than that!

The last word about the Azul Beach Hotel must go to the staff. Their service and warm hospitality is some of the best we've ever experienced! Ever helpful, always anticipating the needs of their guests.
If you are looking to plan a destination wedding or familymoon at the Azul Beach Hotel, plan ahead. The staff will only perform one wedding per day so that the bride and groom enjoy the individualized attention they deserve on their most important day. Families booking 5 or more rooms for either a wedding or family reunion receive a complimentary concierge to help them with group dinners, sightseeing or anything else they may need to make their stay even more enjoyable together.
