The Grand & Club Marival is where Vacationkids Terry Hoddinott vacationed with her family in the summer of 2004. Manager Armando Jimenez rolled out the red carpet for Terry as he does for all the families that visit his beautiful four star resort. The Grand & Club Marival is located in Nueva Vallarta, the new resort area located a short fifteen minute ride north of the airport and just 20 minuted from all the excitement of downtown Puerto Vallarta.

The Grand & Club Marival is considered to be one of the largest all inclusive resorts in Puerto Vallarta offering guests over 650 garden or ocean view rooms and suites. This resort sits on one of the prettiest stretches of beach overlooking Banderas Bay. The resort itself is split into two sections the newer "Grand" section and the "Club" section, hence the name. Guests can use all the facilties at both side of the resort. There is a complete array of activities to keep the entire family happy and busy including walking and jogging trails, guided horseback rides, bicycling, non motorized water sports, whale watching, basketball, volleyball, sailboats, four lit tennis courts, fully equipped fitness center, nightly entertainment and themed shows. For an additional fee guest can enjoy a full selection of spa services too or enjoy a round of golf at Los Flamingos the par 72, 18-hole course designed by Percy Clifford, located 15 minutes away.

If there is one feature that distingushes the Grand & Club Marival from other Puerto Vallarta family resorts, it has to be it's awesome kids pool and water park for kids. Here kids can splash away the day on two slides and keep cool with spouting mushrooms and swim to their hearts content. Terry says depending how well your child swims, the kids pool is really best for ages 4-5 years and up. It can get a bit overwhelming for toddlers. Besides the children's pool there are three other pools that are part of the resort's extensive pool area includes an activities pool, a quiet adult pool and the Grand's adults-only that contains an 18 foot jacuzzi.

All the guest rooms at the Grand & Club Marival have either one king OR two double beds with air conditioning and ceiling fans, telephone, room safe and remote controlled satellite TV, patio or balcony and a private bathroom with shower and some rooms have bathtubs. The Grand standard rooms are just a bit larger and are family of five friendly.
Better yet, these rooms will allow 2 adults with three children under 12 or 3 adults with 2 children under 12 making it a good choice for a family with a teen.

Starting fall 2004 The Grand & Club Marival will offer new 1 and 2 bedroom suites. This is perfect for larger families, parents who want a little romance or little ones with early bedtimes. These suites offer bedrooms that connect with a private door to the main living area.

The Charme Kids club at the Grand & Club Marival is open daily from 9am to 5pm for kids ages 4-12 years old. Every day the staff posts the days activities so that there is always something different going on.
Terry said the staff was very interative with the kids having fun doing things like beach olympics, arts & crafts, afternoon movies, watersports, nature walks and even offered a mini disco at night. Evening babysitting can be arranged with concierge for a fee with 24 hours notice.

Terry said one thing is for certain, families at the Grand & Club Marival will never go hungry. The Terrazza Portofino is open from early morning to midnight with tasty snacks, burgers and muchies throughout the day. Casa Bella offers air conditioned indoor seating as well as terrace tables serving international specialties for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
La Pergola offers more casual dinning all day long while specialty restaurants Bellavista, Las Palomas and La Bomba require reservations at night for more elegant ala carte dining.
Terry says the kids are so happy running around all day in the sun having fun at The Grand & Club Marival that at night, parents can relax and enjoy some together time. All the families Terry met and spoke to during her stay said they would be back again for another family vacation at the Grand & Club Marival and Terry feels the same way.
