The Barcelo La Jolla de Mismaloya offers 304 suites - 179 one bedroom suites, 109 two bedroom suites and even 16 presidential suites. It's perfect for extended families and even family reunions.
For a bit of history and hollywood trivia...The La Jolla de Mismaloya hotel was built in 1989 on a large part of the sets used in 1963 to film "The Night of the Iguana", the film which shot Puerto Vallarta to fame, and sparked a torrid romance between Ava Gardner and Richard Burton. The hotel was bought by the Barcelo Resort chain in 2005 and underwent a 31 million dollar update and renovation. Barceló La Jolla de Mismaloya guests (For additional fees) can enjoy fine Mexican cooking at the Los Sets de la Noche de la Iguana Restaurant, located in what was once the hotel where Ava Gardner stayed in during filming; or at John Huston's Seafood Restaurant (better known as the Casa Huston), along with many other facilities created for the 19 sets where the famous movie was filmed.

One of the most striking features of the Barcelo La Jolla de Mismaloya is the gorgeous grounds. Guests
are surrounding by lush, tropical gardens intertwined with 4 expansive pools complete with water slide and a pool just for the kids.
