The Blue Bay Club is a delightful all inclusive resort perfect for families on a budget or looking to save pennies so they can enjoy more vacations together. One of the most important things to realize about this resort is that it is NOT located in the hotel zone of Cancun with all the high rise hotels and hustle and bustle. It is located about 20 minutes north on the mainland on a beach and marina all to itself. The Blue Bay Club is just down the road from the Ferry that can take you and the family over to Isla Mujeres, the small island just off shore of Cancun for a day of snorkeling, exploring and adventure. You're just a taxi ride away from all the excitement, activities and clubs in Cancun...close enough but far enough away from the crowds. The biggest thing that confuses folks is that there is a sister property called the Blue Bay Getaway located right in Cancun's hotel zone. The Blue Bay GETAWAY is ADULTS ONLY and the Blue Bay CLUB is for KIDS and families. Adults staying at the Blue Bay Club are enjoy privileges at the Getaway and there is scheduled free transportation offered between the two resorts but kids are not allowed at the Getaway.
Vacationkids would hear rave reviews from families who had vacationed here. Sally Black and Sue Frantz made it a point to rent a car in order to visit the Blue Bay Club and see for themselves. They arrived on Superbowl Sunday and the whole resort was a buzz, looking forward to a Mexican tailgate party while watching the game. Everyone we chatted with along our way kept remarking about what a great vacation they were having.
Sally and Sue could quickly see the reason. The staff at the Blue Bay Club is very cordial, warm and inviting. They do a fabulous job getting guests to mix, mingle and become involved with activities. It's the great staff that puts the hospitality into this little resort!

By comparison to many of the large resorts in Cancun's hotel zone, the Blue Bay Club is an intimate 150 room low rise property. The architecture and atmosphere here is very cozy but there are lots of stairs and levels to the property. Probably not the easiest to navigate with a stroller and keep in mind there are no elevators. This is the resort for people who want to be close to the ocean. As you can see from the photo, all the rooms are in very close proximity to the water's edge.
All the rooms at the Blue Bay Club include air conditioning, ceiling fan, satellite color, TV with international programming, direct access dial
telephone, bathroom with shower and comfortable balcony or terrace. Cribs are available upon request. Superior category rooms offer a choice of either a king bed or two doubles with a garden or ocean view. Two kids under the age of 12 can stay, play and eat free when staying with two adults. Of course they still need to pay for airfare unless Mom or Dad have enough airline miles to cover everyone. The OCEANVIEW JR SUITE seen here in the photo is a favorite of Vacationkids families because it is FAMILY OF FIVE FRIENDLY. For most of the year, it will allow Spacious split-level with living area with fold out sofa, 1 king size bed or 2 double beds and all with magnificent ocean views. With families of five, two kids stay play and eat free and the third child does pay a child rate. If you are a family of five, make your vacation plans early. As you can imagine, these rooms are in high demand and are usually the first to go. ALSO the Blue Bay Club will often limit or not allow families of five to share suites during very high demand peak travel weeks like spring break or the December holidays.

The Blue Bay Club offers two pools that overlook the ocean including one with a swim up bar. The pool area is surrounded by a large sun deck area with your choice of either plenty of sun or plenty of shade. Here you'll find lots of activities and fun going on from sun up to sun down.

Vacationkids Sally Black was impressed with the views from the pool deck. She really liked the convenience that the Blue Bay Club offers families. From the pool deck and public areas of this resort you're literally steps away from the water's edge. You won't have far to go to bring tired little ones in for their afternoon siesta. It's also a great spot for tweens and teens, enough independence for them but parents can still keep a watchful eye.

The Blue Bay Club has a beautiful, expansive white sand beach with bright blue waters perfect for swimming, splashing, and hours of fun. Or maybe you just want to work on your tan and enjoy a good book while the kids build sand castles to the sky. Either way you can have your wish here.
Their all inclusive program offers all sorts of activities for busy families like Basketball, Scuba Lessons In Pool, Kayaks, Hobie Cat sailing, Wind Glider lessons, Lighted Tennis Courts, Volleyball, Soccer Field, Exercise Room and a Theater with nightly themed show for the entire family.

The Blue Bay Club also offers Room service for Continental Breakfast only
and stops serving alcohol at 1am. But food and beverages are available 24 hours.

There is a small kids club located in a converted hotel room that is open between the hours of 10am to 5pm daily for kids ages 4-12 years old. The room is full of every toy imaginable as well as many arts and crafts supplies. Sue found the girls here enjoying some face painting fun and again. The staff really got all the kids involved and everyone was having fun. The Blue Bay Club does offer babysitting which can be arranged for younger kids or after hours at a rate of $10 per hour. This can be arranged thru concierge 24 hours in advance.
Although there is no teen club per say, there is a game room with pool tables and ping pong tables that seemed to be a draw for the teens. The concierge told us that the entertainment staff does look to see if there are a number of teens staying during school holiday weeks and will organize activities to get them involved.

So if you're the kind of family that is looking for lots of bang for their vacation buck and plenty of fun in the Mexican sun, you'll find it at the Blue Bay Club. And a reminder for those families of five out there...plan ahead! |
