FDR Pebbles is an environmentally friendly, all-inclusive family resort located a short 45 minute ride from Montego Bay airport heading towards Ocho Rios. FDR Pebbles is all about "Family Soft Adventure," where learning and fun go hand in hand! Your family will learn about the island's rich history and experience the ecology of our ocean and its coral reefs. You can even visit the "Eighth Wonder of the World," the luminous lagoon located nearby where at dusk sea creatures make the lagoon glow in the moonlight.

FDR Pebbles resort is the sister property to the renown Franklin D. Resort Generally speaking Vacationkids recommends Franklin D. resort for families with younger children and FDR Pebbles for families with old kids, tweens and teens looking for a bit more adventure. Either way, you'll enjoy the same impeccable service at either resort including the care of their exclusive Vacation Nannies.

Vacationkids own Jan McAuley and Sally Black visited FDR Pebbles in 2001 and were surprised that such a small intimate resort could pack so much family fun into one vacation stay. Sally and Jan could not get over the lush, beautiful gardens surrounding the property where you could reach up and pick a banana right off the tree. The staff are proud of their efforts with conservation and ecology and their hard work shows how much they respect mother nature and their evironment.

FDR Pebbles is an all-suite, all-inclusive deluxe family resort where the Cedar-wood suites are distinctly Caribbean in flavor, design and color. The decor is rustic yet classy giving families the feel of staying in more of a camp like setting with all the luxuries of an all inclusive resort. Children under the age of 6 stay, play and eat for free, they just have to pay for their airfare. Children between the ages of 6 thru 15 pay children's rates. FDR Pebbles is a family of five friendly resort that will allow up to 2 adults and 3 children age 15 and younger to share the same room. The suite rooms at FDR Pebbles offer a semi private air-conditioned bedroom with one king size bed with entrance to terrace area, a full bathroom with shower and bathtub separate living room with day-bed, satellite TV and telephone,Mini refrigerator. Additional rollaway bed and crib available at no additional cost

For an additional fee, families can elect to stay in an ocean front suite where you are literally stay steps away from the ocean.

FDR Pebbles also offers guest the service of the exclusive Vacation Nannies. Each family is assigned a Vacation Nanny upon arrival. Your Nanny is available exclusively for your family daily from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and is highly trained in housekeeping and child care. There is a nominal charge of US$4 per hour if you require her stay with your children after 4:40 p.m. She will care for your children all day, from giving them a bath to feeding small children, to taking them to their activities, so Mom and Dad can enjoy some personal time too.

The Small World Kids Club is open from 9:00 am to 10:00 pm daily and is just bursting with the latest educational computer games, toys of all kinds plus art and craft activities. The staff provide hours of supervised fun for children of all ages including such things as bicycle trips, picnics, shell collecting, boat rides and adventure tours.
Explorers ages 3 to 5 years enjoy activities a glass bottom boat ride, storytime, movies, pizza party, disco dancing, shell hunt, shell painting, paper crafts and snorkeling lessons.
Adventurers ages 6 to 11 years have their own activities including t-shirt painting, arts and crafts, pool volleyball, tennis, pool Olympics, reggae dance classes, map reading and soccer clinics. FDR Pebbles has a special scuba bubblemaker program for kids as old as 10 years of age so they can learn the skills necessary to enjoy a lifetime of scuba diving fun.

FDR Pebbles has developed an impressive program of activities especially geared for teens and tweens offering them freedom and independence under the watchful eyes of trained staff. They have their own clubhouse where they can hang out and meet teens from all over the US, Canada, England, Australia or Sweden. Teens at FDR Pebbles enjoy their own Sports Program. They will become better basketball, soccer, tennis and volleyball players. They'll catch Windsurfing fever, go hiking, learn about coral reefs and why fish glow in the nearby lagoon, how to sail, snorkel and play tennis, all with instructions. Activities include bonfire beach parties, an overnight camp out, hiking, cycling trips on mountain bikes, field trips up the Martha Brae River learning about the flora and fauna, a visit to a crocodile farm, sunfish sailing, kayaking, tennis, basketball and soccer clinics. There is even a specially designed scuba class just for teens.

Don't worry mom and dad, FDR Pebbles didn't forget about you. While the kids are out busy having fun, you can relax and enjoy all this resort has to offer including three seaside restaurants offering exceptional cusine, unlimited drinks, Relax by the poolside, enjoy a drink at the swim up bar or swing in hammocks found around the property. Relax in the Jacuzzi, play tennis, basketball or a lively game of beach volleyball. Watersports such as snorkeling, sunfish sailing, kayaking and glass bottom boat rides are available. The use of all the gym facilities and sports equipment and the instructor are included in the all-inclusive rate. Pamper yourself with a treatment at the spa for an extra fee. At nights, adults can join in the fun at the Piano Bar and enjoy live entertainment and nightly dancing. One of the best features of this resort is the balance of activities families can choose from. Adults, kids and teens can find plenty to do with their peers but there are also organized family fun activities like dance classes, picnics and outtings so that you can all spend some quality time together.

In all honesty the beach area of FDR Pebbles is small and a bit rocky in comparison to some of the other Jamaican all inclusive resorts. If you're family are big beach buffs you may be a bit disappointed. Then again, other families really like the private, sheltered beach area that offers gentle waves for little people. It's really all a matter of lifestyle and taste. What this resort lacks in big beachfront, it more than makes up for in personality, unique programs and activities.
