Club Med Punta Cana is the perfect family vacation pick for active families. Club Med Punta Cana was one of the
first resorts in this area but has recently undergone a complete refurbishment. It is located on one of the best,
most beautiful beaches in the Dominican Republic with 75 acres of silky white sand and clear blue water. Non
stop flights are available to Punta Cana from many US cities and the commute from the airport takes less than
15 minutes...making travel time to Club Med Punta Cana a breeze. Vacationkids Sally Black and Jan McAuley visited
Club Med Punta Cana in April 2005 to update everyone on all the new features of this long time family vacation favorite.
|
|
|
First and foremost, one of the main features that makes Club Med resorts different from all their competition are their
GO's ...which stand for "Gracious Organizers". The GO team organize activities for adults, teens and kids, help with
entertainment and basically make sure everyone feels right at home. They are more than just hotel staff. They will all
soon be your new best friends. They are multi lingual and multi talented. They even dine with the guests as see here
with Sally & Jan's GO friend Joel and Jan's Pal CoCo It is the personality as well as the hospitality of all the GO's
that help make Club Med different from your typical family vacation resort.

Club Med recently is now an ALL INCLUSIVE resort offering two restaurants, two bars, snack bar and open air nightclub.
This means premium liquors, ice cold beers, sparkling sodas and fresh juices are included with your delicious meals,
activities and sports. And what a list of things to do...
|
|
|
|
Windsurfing, Sailing, softball, soccer, kayaking, snorkeling water polo, beach volleyball, full service Crunch indoor and beach gym and fitness trail
|
|
|
|
tennis, archery, in line skating and yes...even flying trapeze with lessons for all ability levels are all included.
|
|
|
|
All of these activities are hosted and guided by your GO's (which stands for Gracious Organizers). These Club Med
staff members are there to insure your family are safe, sound and having fun while under their watch. And when the
sun goes down, the night lights up with nightly entertainment, Dominican festivals including local arts and crafts,
evening sports competitions, circus shows, Latin dance lessons and an open-air nightclub right on the beach.
Club Med Punta Cana also offers private tennis lessons, sailing camp and soccer
clinics at certain times throughout the year. There are extra fees involved to participate
in these programs but well worth the cost to put you at the top of your game.
Horseback riding, golf, scuba diving and deep sea fishing excursion can also be arranged off site for an
additional cost. Needless to say there is always something to do and something fun going on so parents will
never hear those dreaded words "I'm bored".
There are also two swimming pools along with a kids only pool. One area is an activity pool and the other
offering a more quiet area for a refreshing dip.

But at Club Med Punta Cana, it's all about the beach!...and what a beautiful beach it is!
|
|
|
Photos really don't to justice to the crystal clear blue waters and this expansive shore of white sand. Your family
will enjoy hours of seaside family vacation fun here!
|
|
|
|
The surroundings and grounds of Club Med Punta Cana are a bit spread out but very lush and tropical. You'll enjoy
strolling past swaying palms and huge flowering bouganvillas. You will do some walking but the grounds are easy to
navigate and very stroller friendly. All the room buildings are decorated in bright, charming Caribbean style. The
buildings are all low rise three stories high but there are no elevators.

Sally and Jan say the rooms here are not lavish but graciously appointed. They are a bit on the small side but
extremely practical for families. At Club Med Punta Cana your family will find all the comforts of home including
air conditioning, satellite TV, telephone service, hair dryers just steps away from an idyllic beach. Cribs, high
chairs and booster seats are readily available for the comfort of your little ones. All rooms have the exact same
configuration. There is a master bedroom with a king bed separated from the living room area by a pocketdoor. As
you can see from the photo the area is small but does afford Mom and Dad a bit of privacy. The living area has
two twin bed and a TV. There is a full bath with a shower (no bathtub). Club Med will allow the addition of
a crib to this room allowing families of five with the youngest child age 3 or under. Please note that all the
rooms at Club Med are separate and that NONE of these rooms have adjoining doors. The definition of a child at
Club Med Punta Cana is age 16 and younger so kids under the age of 16 pay children's rates.

Club Med has a long standing reputation of having one of the best kids program in the
industry. Club Med Punta Cana offers age appropriate kids clubs from ages 2 - 17. It's the

The toddler and kids club area at Club Med Punta Cana is a huge gated area complete with expansive playground
and imagination areas and a separately gated splash pool area just for little ones. The kids club rooms are

The Ramp is a very unique, two-story, open-air club exclusively for teens ages 14 to 17-year olds.
Teens are the age group most over looked by resorts and Sally and Jan were blown away by the teen program offered at
Club Med Punta Cana. Downstairs in The Ramp teens can find football tables, telescopes, a jukebox filled with hit
tracks from around the world as well as soft drinks and snacks.
|
|
|
But the real surprise at the Ramp is around back and up a flight of stairs. The building itself is part of an
extreme skate board/in line skating park designed just for teens. Here teens can ollie, flip, grind and slide
to their heart's content or simply head out back for some hoops.
|
|
|
|
With access to The Ramp teens get:
A membership bracelet
A Ramp access card
A mailbox, so they can keep in touch with new friends
Access to The Ramp’s two foosball tables, photo booth, jukebox, hammock, a life size chess board and two telescopes
Club Night, exclusively for Ramp members
Water world, when the pool becomes one big party
Cool off-site excursions
Normally adults are not permitted at The Ramp except of course for the watchful GO's who are there to supervise
and make sure everyone is having fun. Sally & Jan asked special permission of the teens to take their tour of The
Ramp. The roof of the ramp is desinged like the sun hammocks of a catamaran. Sally & Jan sat and chatted with the
teens who couldn't say enough about all the fun they were having at The Ramp Club Med Punta Cana. They all agreed
it was the best vacation they have ever had. FYI...The Ramp Teen Club will be coming soon to
Club Med Sandpiper Florida
and Club Med Ixtapa Mexico
so stay tuned to Vacationkids for updates.

At Club Med Punta Cana the emphasis is on fun filled days with lots to do. Still there is plenty of time to sit
in the shade of a swaying palm just enjoying some quality time together as a family.

|
We have to warn you, there are two hard parts to a vacation at Club Med Punta Cana...the first is trying
to decide amongst all the activities your family will want to participate in. The most difficult part will
be dragging your kids back home again. That's ok because most families who experience a Club Med vacation
return year after year and Vacationkids.com can help make that happen.
